Dutch Treasures

I adore tulips and in spring I enjoy putting an enormous bouquet of tulips on our dining table. And that is possible, because they aren’t expensive nowadays. However, this used to be a different story. In the 17th century these flowers would cost a fortune. A tulip bulb was literally worth its weight in gold. Delft ceramic vases were made especially for tulips in that same century but as they are unaffordable now, I have created a quilt with such a vase instead.

The size of this quilt is 102 x 102 cm.
